Granite is a widely occuring igneous rock. Granite usually have a medium to coarse grained texture. Granite is hard and tough, and is therefore been widely used for hardwearing surfaces like kitchen tops, floor tiles and bathroom vanities. Large blocks are removed from granite quarries around the world then cut into slabs and polished to give a high gloss working surface that brings out the natural beauty of the stone.

Marble is a metamorhic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. Metamorphism causes variable recrystallization of the original carbonate mineral grains. Many coloured marble varieties is available, a softer stone that is polished at the manufacturing process. The low index of refraction of calcite allows light to penetrate into the stone before being scattered out, resulting in the characteristic “waxy” look giving life to any surface it is used on.
